Teacher Appreciation Week

GHE teachers & staff are the best in the world! Let's take them on a trip around the globe to say thank you for helping us SOAR!

GHE PTA has fun destinations planned for our teachers each day plus ideas for how the kids can show our amazing teachers & staff how much they're appreciated.

VOLUNTEER ON PTA'S TRIP AROUND THE WORLD

We know how much our families like to show GHE teachers and staff they are valued. GHE PTA has big things planned for Teacher Appreciation Week and we need your help! Please take a look at the volunteer opportunities below and sign-up to help!

DAILY APPRECIATION ACTIVITIES FOR STUDENTS

We'd like to invite all students and families to show extra gratitude to the teachers and staff at GHE during Teacher Appreciation Week. Here are our daily themes if you would like to participate!

MONDAY, MAY 2: ITINERARY PLANNING

It's a teacher workday so here's something to keep the kids busy at home! Have children draw a picture or write a story of their favorite place to visit. Have your child bring in their picture or story on Tuesday to share with their teacher to provide vacation ideas.

TUESDAY, MAY 3: IN FLIGHT SNACKS

Bring in international treats from PTA's sign-up sheet so we can stock the teachers' lounge for all of our amazing teachers, instructional assistants, specialists, support specialists and staff. Sign-up for a variety of food and beverages on our In Flight Snacks Volunteer Form.

WEDNESDAY, MAY 4: POSTCARDS FROM HOME

Have your child fill out a postcard to their favorite teachers sharing all the reasons why that teacher means the world to them (another great teacher workday activity for Monday!). They can draw a picture on the back just like a real postcard. A sheet with two postcards will go home in student folders the week of April 25, but if you didn't receive one or simply have more than two teachers to thank, download a printable version.

THURSDAY, MAY 5: BREAK OUT THE PHRASE BOOK

Help your child learn how to say “thank you” in another language. On Thursday they can say merci, danke, gracias, arigato, obrigado, xièxiè, dhanyavaad or more to every teacher they see throughout the day.

FRIDAY, MAY 6: ARRIVALS

Teachers have arrived back in Cary, NC after their whirlwind trip around the globe. Let's help them extend the pampering into the weekend by giving them something off their Faculty Favorites.
